if your flight gets in at 10, it would be 12am before you could get checked into a hotel. what with airport security first thing in morning taking 1-2 hours, and a 5am flight, that doesn't leave much time for anything except a moonlight ride to beach and back. good luck.

They do close the airport. If you can store luggage go to Waikiki and have a meal, walk the beach. Relax on the beach and for $10.00 you can go to 24 hour fitness and workout for a bit and then shower.

I'd get the room with a comfortable bed, hot shower, place for the luggage, etc. You're going to be tired, and just a little rest will go a long way. Most will even throw in some sort of breakfast.

The couple of times I've spent the night in an airport, it was torture.
