What are some things I must do in Honolulu, HI?

walkerseven asked:

I am going to Honolulu, HI for the first time. What are some things I should do and what are some places I should visit? I am planning to just stay on that island.

Go walk the boulevard at Waikiki and see all the street performers and such. It’s always a hoot, alot of aspiring Magicians perform there too.

See where the 44th US President hung out while he was there.

    1) the Arizona Memorial is a must
    2) Iolani Palace is beautiful & historic, the home of the last Hawaiian monarchs
    3) drive around the island, visit the beaches on the north shore & stop in Haleiwa for lunch & gallery browsing
    4) snorkel at Hanauma Bay
    5) stroll Waikiki Beach at sunset, walk through the two oldest hotels on the beach, the Moana & the Royal Hawaiian
    6) take a hike – there are lots of good ones. Diamond Head is probably the best known & most easily accessible
    7) a catamaran ride or surfing lessons at Waikiki Beach are both fun 8) Art on the Fence at the zoo on Kapiolani Park is great, whether you are just looking or want to buy something to remind you of your trip

    Have a wonderful vacation!

As usual, Fatima has nothing original to say.

of course what everyone else said is great, but some of the things they left out are…
go to all the little shops and restaurants around north shore.

eat at top of waikiki!!! it’s a revolving restaurant where you can get a great view of the island.

if you go to ko olina they have lagoons which is really nice, you can take a float and relax in the ocean without having the fear of accidentally going out too far.

lana kai is my favorite beach there! and not to mention the drive there is beautiful going through the mountains and the rainforst side of the island.

shopping at the outlet center is very nice.

pretty much everything there is amazing!
