Yes:
• The USS Kamehameha (SSBN 642) a 425-foot submarine, steamed into Pearl Harbor on her maiden voyage in 1965. It was name after King Kamehameha, who unified the islands.
• The UUS Swordfish (SSN 579) was the second SKATE - class nuclear-powered attack submarine and the second ship in the Navy named after the large fish with the long, swordlike beak and the high orsal fin.
• USS Nathan Hale (SSBN 623) name after Nathan Hale a spy for General Washington, who was discover and hang. He is remember for this words: “I only regret that I have but one life to lose for my country.” (not so sure about this one)

Quite probably. Hawaii is almost always a stop off point for subs in the pacific anyway due to its place as one of the worlds most favored paradises. Since we have a substantially large Navy base there and Sub crews need fair off the boat time, it is as good a place as any. Additionally, since it was the era of the cold war, the chances are even greater, San Diego is several additional days away from the action should there be an emergency, so your chances are 95% that there was in fact Subs stationed there.
