Is the Chinatown part of Honolulu a safe neighborhood to live in?

I’m a haole(white), 27 years old, male, and active duty military. I was considering renting a condo in that part of town.
I was looking at renting a condo there that is in the Honolulu Tower building on N. Beretania Street and wanted to know if the neighborhood is in the bad part of Chinatown.
The building seems to be right on the border of downtown and Chinatown.

When I lived there it was a safe place to live. I would walk there in midnight and I feel safe. I haven’t seen any problem. There’s always a police person walking that beat. Just don’t flex your muscle, and you’ll be alright. Watch out for the mahus if you’re not into that. Downtown is a bit more chic now since I have resided there. People with drug problems (talking mostly about meth) tend to stay away from such place.
