Is Honolulu safe for a female vactioning alone?
Sarah Elizabeth asked:
I’m going to Honolulu in December im staying in a hotel in Waikiki for my 20th brithday is it a safe place for me being alone? Also how much spending money should i bring? I already have the hotel and flight booked.
I’m going by myself because i always wanted to go and i cant find anyone that can foot their own bill to come with me.

Chances of a mishap can’t be avoided. Waikiki Resort Hotel offers hotel suites and banquet … security guards working 24-hours every day to provide the best in safety and security.
Have a nice trip and enjoy.

Avoid a place called Wainai (noit sure of the spelling). Lots of drug activity there. Same fror Chinatown at night in Honolulu. During the day, it’s apparently okay.
If you watch ‘Dog: The Bounty Hunter,’ you will learn which places in Honolulu should be avoided. A Frommer’s Guide or other tourist book might also have that sort of information
Have a wonderful trip! I want to go to Hawaii, myself, someday. It’s so beautiful.

Yes, but you can also end up in the wrong place at the wrong time. Things happen and though security is tight for tourists, things may still slip through the cracks.
Be careful and stay in places approved by your hotel’s mautre’d.

***No place for a single female vacationing especially outside her country is safe.
Be wise and go with 3 – 4 friends, best group size. Much much more fun, support and safety. Speak to several people who have done overseas trips/adventures.
Wish you joy, safety and great memories! And you have been kindly advised……..:-))

The usual tourist destinations are safe, as for how much money to bring, you should maybe look up things you want to do online and judge how much to bring.
Please do not listen to the stereotypes, about the “Dog the Bounty Hunter”, I like the show but it does not represent Hawaii and Hawaiian people in the right way, the show can be a bit ****** at times.
I am not saying Hawaii is 100% safe, but if you stick to the tourist destinations you should be alright.
Just remember to respect the people and the land you should be fine.
Also why are you going by yourself?
December is a bit far away, I turn 20 in March =].
