How to transport from Honolulu Airport to Waikiki at 11 pm Friday?
Lawman asked:
We are arriving at 11 pm in Honolulu Friday and my hotel has no airport shuttle. What are the different ways to get to Kapahulu Avenue near Waikiki Beach besides calling a cab? Thanks.

Seems like some of the car rental places at HNL are open 24 hours. I know Thrifty is not, but try Hertz and Dollar.
Looks like routes #19 and 20 still run that late at night, if you don’t have too much luggage. You might meet some interesting people on a bus in Honolulu that time of night. The bus goes through Chinatown, which has a reputation of its own, independent of the reputation of Chinese people in Honolulu or anywhere in the world…

Hotwire (nonrfundable) rental cars are cheap if you have your own insurance.
There lots of shuttles. Hawaii Super Transit is recommended by the hostel, so I would use that one.
Hawaii Super Transit Shuttle: Runs to and from Waikiki for $5 return. Tel (808) 841 2928, 1 877 247 8737 or use courtesy phones at the information boards in baggage claim.
Reliable Shuttle: Runs to and from Waikiki. The 2nd person goes free with each full fare paying person. Tel (808) 924 9292 or use courtesy phones at the information boards in baggage claim.
Waikiki Shuttle: Runs to hotels in Waikiki. One way $9, round trip $15. Excess bags or surfboards extra.
The cab will cost some bucks since you are at the farthest end of Waikiki.

Without a doubt take the Reliable Shuttle. They are the quickest to your hotel. If you mess around with Roberts you could be waiting for a while. Roberts fills up a whole bus most of the time. Reliable just runs vans.
When you arrive in the airport after you get your bags. They have message boards with hotels, transportation. Look at the transportation section, find the code for Reliable dial it. They’ll pick you up in few min and you’re on your way. O/W is like $8 return maybe $14. HAVE FUN
