How many hours would it take to go from London, UK, to Honolulu, Hawaii, by plane?
Kimikazi asked:
I know the distance is somewhere around 4000 miles, but I don’t know how many hours that would take. Approximations are welcome.

You have to change planes somewhere, and there are non-stop flights from the UK to Pacific departure cities like Los Angeles and San Francisco. It appears to be about 15 hours of flying, with whatever time between flights added to the total.
Right now, United has great deals from London-Heathrow to Honolulu for about US$800 (including taxes & fees). The total trip takes about 20 hours with 4 to 5 hours between flights in California.

With two stops, around 30 hours
With three stops, 33 hours.
Probably 20 hours flight time.
Nonstops to HNL are best from Minneapolis and Chicago

Around 15 hours or so.
I’m flying from Honolulu to London, and a stop-over to LA is 5 hours. From LA to London is 10 hours.
