It is a high rise motel 6. It is affordable and a few blocks from the beach. The view is of other hi rise hotels. It is clean and tidy.

I have never stayed there...but, am planning my 3rd trip to Honolulu. My first two trips I stayed at the least expensive hotels....and they were both just o.k. They were off the main path...so, the only view was of other buildings, alleys, etc...

this time we have decided to pay a little more and stay in a hotel on the beach, with a beach view....I really think it will be worth it...while I have always enjoyed my trips to Hawaii, I always wondered, what would it be like to lay in your bed at night, and watch the sun go down on the ocean, or be awakened by it in the morning coming up over the ocean...or to sit on the patio have a cup of coffee and just people watch others at the beach...I think this would be the true Hawaii experience.

Anyway, bottom line...I would suggest, paying a little more and getting an ocean view room....it will make the trip more complete.

Yes, I am familiar with the Maile Sky Court Hotel. It is reasonably clean and tidy. It is not a nice or luxury hotel by any means. However, it is in a reasonably good location in Waikiki, and I suspect you will be just using it as a place for a bed and a shower. For those purposes, it is okay. If you are planning your dream Hawaiian vacation, this is not the hotel for you. Have fun, though, it sounds like your expectations are appropriate for this hotel!!
