Does anyone know of any decent but dirt cheap hotels to stay at in Honolulu?

Celeste asked:

I will be there from Oct 20th to November 3rd. Just me and my husband celebrating our 5 year anniversary. I’m not looking for a resort or anything that nice. We really just want a private room, our own bathroom, and a clean place to sleep at night. We don’t want to stay in a hostel and we don’t want to share our room with creapy-crawlies. If you can help us find something we would like something in the under $100 range.

I live in Hawaii. It just depends on where you would like to stay. The skycourt Maile is a good one, but if you want cheaper you could check Best western. Only thing is The Skycourt Maile is in Waikiki and Best Western is near the airport not really any site seeing places you may have to drive. Hope this helps a little. Have fun. Mahalo!

There is no such thing as a room under $100 here in Honolulu. Even those hotels that are so gross that you won’t even consider them aren’t that cheap.

The cheapest hotel chain that’s still decent is the Outrigger or Maile chain. They will most likely run you about $129/nt or so.

Hope that helps……happy travels and happy anniversary!

when my best friend took me to Oahu for my 30th birthday we stayed at the Oahana waikiki west. It was cheap. decent.Nothing special. but we had a little kitchenette and a little balcony. We were on the 11th floor. It has a 24 hour Dennys opened across the street. A starbucks like 2 doors down and a chilis in the lobby.Good Luck..it was like a 15 mintue walk to Waikiki beach and the main drag.

Try the Big Surf Hotel. My parents stayed here once and they liked it. They had one of the suites. It’s quite large, fits up to 4 people and also has a full kitchen. Their studios are smaller and cheaper. See on this website:

Try the Hawaiian Regent. I was there a year ago, and paid $75 a night. Its clean, in a safe area, and walking distance to alot of Waikiki attractions.

Ohana and Outrigger hotels are also reasonably priced, and there are a few places around the Fort Derussy area that aren’t too bad. Unfortunately I can’t think of their names off the top of my head, but look for hotels along Kuhio Ave, Ala Wai Blvd. Ena Road, Kapahulu, etc. Most of the hotels along Kalaukaua are VERY pricey, and will set you back alot more than a hundred bucks a night. Also check on Lewers Street. Outrigger and Ohana run a couple of hotels in that area, and Marc Suites as well.

There are lots of really good restaurants, attractions and things to do in those areas, and most are pretty reasonably priced.

Sorry, I know its not much, but I hope it helps you narrow down your search a bit.

Early congratulations on your anniversary by the way. I wish you many many more, with much happiness and prosperity!! :)
